My yoga journey:
In 2008, I walked into my first yoga class full of skepticism. It’s still difficult for me to put into words how I felt after that first class. I had a profound new connection with my body, the people around me, and the larger world. It was overwhelming.
I have been teaching full time in New York City for over 7 years. In 2013 I completed my 500 hour Bikram Yoga certification. In 2018 I completed Jared McCann’s 200 hour Vinyasa yoga training at Lighthouse Yoga school. Also in 2018, I attended Sacred Sounds Yoga Studio 50 hour Yin & Restorative yoga teacher training. I am working to be certified by the R.R.C.A. (Road Runners Club of America) in small group run coaching. In addition to teaching regular, open-level classes, I also offer private classes tailored to any level of practice.
In the 10+ years I’ve been consistently practicing, I’ve physically lost weight, gained flexibility, and increased my range of motion. Not only have I learned that the postures on the mat are only a small portion of yoga, I’ve also become mentally lighter, clearer, and more serene. I believe that the full practice of yoga reflects who you are, and how you show up in life. The foundation of this starts on your mat.
Yoga transformed me so deeply, I was immediately eager to share these feelings and results with others. I started teaching in 2013 and haven’t looked back. By finding this practice, I feel like I have been given the greatest gift. To be able to be of service to my students and pass this gift on to others is a true honor, and I am grateful every day I get to teach.
